Elisabetta Zamparutti is one of the human rights defenders, you have to read the last article she wrote about violation against women in Iran to see what happened there...
we have to be the voice of Iranian women in the Grate Gathering on June 13

On May 28, Atena Farghadani, a 29 year old Iranian artist and activist, was sentenced to 14 years in prison by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic. Her crimes? Drawing political cartoons that criticized the supporters of anti-woman legislation, and subsequently using YouTube to expose the abuses and poor conditions that she faced in prison after her initial arrest.
The bill that prompted Farghadani’s activism is aimed at criminalizing and discouraging the use of contraception and the practice of voluntary sterilization. It is part of a bid by the Iranian supreme leader to boost the birth rate in the country – a project that has been characterized as creating “soldiers for Islam.”
